Name: Barium Hydroxide octahydrate
Physicochemical Properties: Colorless transparent crystal or white powder. Easily soluble in water and carbinol, slightly soluble in ethanol, hardly dissolve in acetone. Has strong corrosiveness. Rapidly absorb carbon dioxide from air to be barium carbonate, then does not dissolve in water completely. Relative density 2.188. Melting point 78 . Poisonous!
Applications and Usages: Used for determining the carbon dioxide in the air and the chlorophyll, precipitate and separate SO4 to compose barium salt Served for refining the sugar and propagation, intenerating the boiler water.
